Tripled Berry Delight with Gorgonzola and Candied Almonds

Summer is in full swing, and what better way to embrace the season than with a refreshing and vibrant salad that bursts with flavors? Introducing the Triple Berry Salad with Sugared Almonds – a delightful combination of mixed greens, three kinds of berries, gorgonzola, avocado, and the irresistible crunch of sugared almonds. Topped with a simple yet tantalizing strawberry balsamic vinaigrette, this salad is sure to become a staple in your warm-weather repertoire.

If you’ve never ventured into the realm of incorporating fresh berries into your salads, now is the perfect time to embark on this delightful culinary adventure. The beauty of this recipe lies in its versatility – you can choose any berries that strike your fancy, whether it’s the deep purple hue of blackberries, the vibrant blue of blueberries, or the classic sweetness of strawberries. Complementing the fruity notes is the rich and creamy gorgonzola cheese, which creates a harmonious balance of flavors. For those who prefer a milder taste, feta cheese can be substituted with equal delight.

A Burst of Flavors and Textures

But wait, there’s more! The addition of avocado to this salad takes it to new heights of indulgence. Its buttery richness perfectly complements the tartness of the berries and the tanginess of the gorgonzola. And let’s not forget the star of the show – the sugared almonds. These crunchy morsels add a delightful contrast to the overall texture, elevating the salad to a true culinary masterpiece.

Speaking of sugared almonds, their preparation is a simple yet rewarding process. Begin by melting a few tablespoons of white sugar in a nonstick pan over medium heat. As the sugar liquefies, add the almonds and stir continuously until they become coated in the caramelized sugar and take on a beautiful golden hue. Once cooled, these sugary gems will add an irresistible crunch to your salad.
