How To Make CAJUN FRIED SHRIMP

Crispy Cajun Shrimp are crunchy, spicy, zesty, and packed with flavor. Simple seasoning including Cajun seasoning, a touch of lemon zest, and served with a Cajun dipping sauce. Perfect for an easy appetizer, or for a quick dinner!

Oh man. These are so good. I posted about these shrimp a few weeks ago on my Instagram stories, and I know that there have been eager bellies looking forward to this recipe. I promise you there will be no disappointment with these delicious shrimp. We don’t make a lot of fried food in our house, and this was a special treat!

I love deep-fried shrimp. It is one of my favorite things to order, but it is also THE WORST when you get them, and you can tell that it was popped into the fryer from the freezer. Hand-breading, seasoned, super crispy, NOT over-cooked, and an excellent dipping sauce are all necessities when it come to fried shrimp. The crunch and that perfect texture of a shrimp cooked just right are absolutely cravable!

These aren’t just plain fried shrimp. I love to add a little Cajun seasoning to my shrimp and a little lemon zest to keep the flavors bright. I serve my shrimp with a creamy Cajun mayo, and it is a match made in heaven.

Ingredients :

500 gm shrimp

1 tablespoon of Cajun mixture

5 tablespoons olive oil

1 lemon juice

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Coconut Cake with Seven-minute Frosting

Grandmama’s Homemade Coconut Cake is a from scratch cake with decadent (and no fail) 7 minute icing. This is a favorite of our family for holidays and special occasions year round. I found it in an old box of papers that belonged to my grandmother. She had typed it out on letterhead from the company where she worked and later came back, circled it, and wrote in “Real good”. After trying it for myself, I had to agree! When it comes to moist cakes, this is the mother of them all. If a crumb drops from your fork, don’t be surprised if you find your finger chasing it around your plate – it’s just that good.

Top it off with no fail seven minute frosting and a sprinkling of coconut and prepare yourself for a coconut cake experience unlike any other! One of the great things about Grandmama’s seven minute frosting is that you don’t need a double boiler to make it and you can forget fretting over whether or not the weather is dry enough – this comes out perfect every time regardless. If you’re making a layer cake and you like generous amounts of frosting, I suggest doubling the frosting recipe.

This cake has become one of the break out hits from my third cookbook, Sweetness. I’ve received so many emails saying the price of the cookbook was worth it for this one recipe alone. And if that wasn’t recommendation enough, my mother’s friends tell me this is the recipe she tells everyone that they just “have” to make first the moment they get that cookbook.

Ingredients:

1-1/2 c. Sugar,

2 Tbsp corn syrup,

1/4 c.water,

6 egg whites,

tsp. Vanilla

3 INGREDIENT CROCKPOT BBQ CHICKEN WINGS

These Crockpot Chicken Wings are the easiest appetizer of all time. You only need chicken wings and some BBQ sauce. For an amazing finished product, finish them off on the grill or under the broiler. Tasty little devils.

CROCKPOT CHICKEN WINGS
Today I am sharing with you a wonderfully simple Crockpot Chicken Wings recipe! So, I’m not quite sure what came over me and why I wanted to eat chicken wings so so badly the other day, but that’s the reality of my life. I’ve stopped asking questions and just go with the flow…most of the time.

Why use a Crockpot?

I pulled out my crockpot and not the deep fryer because

Ew. I hate the smell that lingers in my house from deep frying
Set it and forget it!!
But most importantly: my thighs don’t need any help getting larger.

HOW TO MAKE CHICKEN WINGS IN A CROCKPOT

Toss chicken wings in salt, pepper and 1/2 cup bbq sauce.
Place into the crockpot and cook 2-3 hours until fully cooked but not falling off the bone.
Remove from the crockpot, baste generously and grill or broil until the skin toasts up and the bbq sauce caramelizes.
Serve with celery, carrots and blue cheese dip.

OTHER CHICKEN WING SAUCES
Hot Sauce + Butter – as I mentioned above, this is the classic hot wing combination. Super delicious, especially with that blue cheese dip!
Honey + Garlic -a simple, flavorful and mild option for wings. Extra sticky, but very delicious.

Quick & Healthy Dinner: 20 Minute Honey Garlic Shrimp Recipe

This 20 minute honey garlic shrimp is a reader favorite recipe. It’s extra quick, very simple, and delivers big flavor. Served with brown rice and vegetables or over a salad, this healthy dish is sure to join your regular dinner rotation.

Are you looking for a super quick, yet flavorful dinner this week? We have it right here for you. This saucy shrimp owes a lot of its flavor to a bold marinade of honey, soy sauce, and garlic, which is music to everyone’s taste buds. For a little extra flavor, we add some minced fresh ginger, but that’s entirely optional.

Tell Me About This Honey Garlic Shrimp

Flavor: The marinade is loaded with flavor, but our favorite part of this dish is the beautiful caramelized bits of honey and garlic stuck to the pan and edges of the shrimp. Scrape it all up to serve because you don’t want to miss those flavorful bites.

Ease: Regardless of your skill level, this is a very easy dinner recipe. Prepare the marinade, use half for marinating the shrimp, then use the rest as the sauce for cooking the shrimp. It’s convenient that the marinade is also the sauce—we do this for our maple sesame salmon and honey garlic salmon recipes too.

Time: The shrimp takes 5 minutes to cook on the stove, while the marinating takes another 15. You’ll have this unbelievably tasty and simple meal on your table in about 20 minutes.

Ingredients:

2 tsp Olive Oil

⅓ cup honey

¼ cup Soy Sauce

1 tbsp minced garlic

1 pound Medium sized shrimp, peeled and deveined

½ to 1 tsp ground ginger, (optional)

Garnish with Chopped Green Onion

How To Make CHRISTMAS SUGAR COOKIES

If you’re looking for a great sugar cookie recipe, whether you’re decorating or not, then this is the recipe for you!

What are sugar cookies made out of?
Simple ingredients you’ll find in your kitchen! You’ll be relieved to know there are no weird ingredients in this recipe. You’re just 5 ingredients away from the best sugar cookies of your life!

Butter ✓
Sugar ✓
Pure vanilla extract ✓
Egg ✓
Flour ✓

How do you get sugar cookies to keep their shape?
What sets this recipe apart from the rest is no baking powder or baking soda. During testing, we found the addition of either of those or a combination of the two ingredients made for puffy sugar cookies that lost their shape while baking from puffing up too much. We also found that we preferred the flavour of these cookies without those two ingredients. They are absolutely not needed in this sugar cookie recipe.

Also, we chill the dough before rolling so that after you’ve cut them out, they’re easier to lift off of your bench and arrange onto your baking sheet, maintaining their shape while baking.

Ingredients:

For the Cookies:

  • ½ C butter
  • ½ C shortening
  • ½ C sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tsp vanilla
  • 3 Tbsp milk
  • 3 C flour
  • ½ tsp baking powder
