How To Make Pecan Pie Brownies

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven according to the brownie package instructions.
  2. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar, corn syrup, eggs, butter, and vanilla. Stir often and cook until the mixture thickens (approximately 15 minutes).
  3. Prepare the brownie mix as per the package instructions.
  4. Pour the brownie batter into a greased 13×9 inch pan and place it in the oven to pre-bake for 20 minutes (refer to note about cooking time below).
  5. While the brownies pre-bake, stir chopped pecans into the thickened pecan pie mixture. Continue cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes until the mixture reaches the consistency of runny oatmeal—pourable but not too liquid.
  6. Once the brownies have finished pre-baking, remove them from the oven and pour the pecan pie filling over them, ensuring complete coverage.
  7. Place them back in the oven and bake for an additional 25-30 minutes or until the filling only slightly jiggles in the middle when you move the pan.
