How to prepare Texas Roadhouse Rolls:
- Place the yeast and warm water in a bowl or container, stir once and let it rest.
- Place milk and buttermilk in a microwave-safe container and heat until hot. It’s okay if the buttermilk separates at this point, it won’t affect the recipe.
- Mix 2 tbsp. Add the softened butter to the milk and buttermilk mixture until melted.
- In a bowl, combine the milk mixture, yeast, granulated sugar, salt and 1 cup flour. Beat with dough hook on high speed until well mixed and smooth.
- Add the egg to the bowl and mix until well combined.
- Gradually add the remaining flour until the dough comes away from the mixing hook.
- Lightly flour the dough and form a ball in a large, well-greased bowl.
- Cover the dough and let it rise for 1 hour.
- Place the dough on a floured surface and roll out ½ centimeter thick.
- Cut the dough into 12 equal rectangular shapes.
- Fold the ends of each rectangle into a roll and let rise slightly on a baking sheet lined with baking paper or a silicone mat for 20 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Bake the rolls for 12-15 minutes until the top is lightly browned.
- If necessary, brush the surface with melted butter.
- Place the honey cinnamon butter ingredients in a bowl and stir until well combined.
Serve the sandwiches hot with butter.
