Crock Pot Mississippi Roast

Prep the Roast:

Pat the chuck roast dry with paper towels. This helps the seasoning stick better.

Seasoning:

Sprinkle the ranch dressing mix and au jus gravy mix evenly over the roast.

Sear the Roast (Optional):

This step is optional but adds flavor. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the roast on all sides until browned.

Prepare the Slow Cooker:

Place the seared or unseared roast in the slow cooker.

Add Butter and Peppers:

Place the butter on top of the roast. Add the pepperoncini peppers around the roast.

Pour Pepperoncini Juice:

Pour the pepperoncini juice over the roast. This adds a tangy and slightly spicy flavor.

Cooking Time:

Cook on low for 8 hours or until the roast is tender and easily shreds with a fork.
