Say Goodbye to Makeup Stains: Natural Remedies for Fabrics

Fabrics stained by makeup pose a common challenge, often proving resistant to the conventional washing machine. Lipstick, foundation, or eyeliner remnants demand pre-washing care to restore garments to their pristine state.

Misconception of Machine Washing:

Many attempt to resolve the issue by tossing the stained fabrics into the washing machine, adding various products in hopes of a miracle. However, this often leads to disappointment as some stains harden without proper treatment, resulting in wasted time and eventually resorting to costly professional laundry services.

Why Choose Natural Remedies:

Before turning to expensive alternatives, consider natural remedies found right in your kitchen. These ingredients, gentle yet effective, yield remarkable results without breaking the bank.

Baking Soda for Common Stains:

For accidental spills of foundation or other makeup, try a readily available ingredient – baking soda. Gently rub it onto the stain, perhaps using a toothbrush, and witness the stain vanish after a few minutes. The garment can then be safely laundered in the washing machine.

Flour in the freezer, this very simple gesture saves your life in 1 minute

🌾 Flour is a food product obtained by grinding cereals or other products. In Italy, two widely used types are soft wheat flour and durum wheat flour. Soft wheat is from central-north regions, while durum wheat, native to the south, yields semolina.

Wheat grains have bran, germ, and endosperm. Bran holds vitamins, germ is removed for preservation, and endosperm contains protein and starch.

How To Clean Your Suitcase: A Step By Step Guide

If the answer to any of those questions is yes, you’re in the right place – I’m about to teach you how to clean your entire suitcase! This detailed guide has helpful tips on cleaning your luggage inside and out, as well as tips for various kinds of suitcases – leather, softshell, hardshell…

Cleaning The Interior Of A Suitcase

If you want to properly clean your entire suitcase, to ensure that you don’t have to do that again for at least another year, it is going to take two days. And that’s because you will need to let it dry overnight, to be absolutely sure that you won’t have issues with mildew because of residue moisture.

  1. Empty your suitcase completely. Not only the main compartment but all the pockets and remove any detachable bags or pockets.
  2. Open all the zippers including all the pockets, inside and out.
  3. Tip your suitcase upside down and shake it to remove all the debris and dust you can.
  4. Vacuum the interior preferably with a small hand-held vacuum, or with a small attachment from a larger one.
  5. Use a wet cloth to wipe the inside for the first time. This removes any simple stains.
  6. For more difficult stains use either laundry detergent (for nylon) or baking soda (for canvas) with water (5:1 or 10:1 ratio).
  7. Wipe out the detergent numerous times with a very wet cloth afterwards.
  8. Leave everything open to dry overnight or longer. Or use a hairdryer to speed it up.
