KIELBASA SOUP WITH POTATOES

Kailbasa soup with potatoes. This is a soup you will fall in love with! Loaded with slices of sausage with slightly crunchy edges and soft, tender potatoes, plus celery, carrots and onions.

Ingredients :

  •  1 pound kielbasa sausage, slice
  •  2 mince garlic clove
  •  1 tsp olive oil
  •  1 small yellow onion
  •   Half a cup of celery, finely chopped
  •   2 large carrots, peeled and cut into cubes
  •   4 c chicken broth
  •    1 pound potatoes, cube
  •    A quarter c grate parmesan
  •    2 c milk
  •   2 c grate cheddar cheese
  •   1/4 c coarsely chop parsley
  •    Salt & pepper to taste

How to make kilbasa soup with potatoes :

the first step:

In  Dutch oven or soup pot, heat olive oil on medium-high heat

Adding mince sausage and cook for 5 to 6 minutes

Remove the sausage from the Dutch oven and place it on the mark

The second step:

In same pan, adding onions, garlic, carrots and celery & cook for 2 mn

Adding chicken broth and adding  potatoes

Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover and cook for 15 minutes.

Third step:

Return the kielbasa to the pan and add the milk, parmesan and cheddar cheese. Season with salt and pepper

Mix well and cook for another 10 minutes over medium-low heat until the cheese melts

Remove from heat and garnish with chopped parsley

Serve immediately

This healthy baked salmon is the best way to feed a crowd. There’s no skillet cooking at all—everything is oven-baked in foil, making prep and cleanup a breeze. We believe it might just be the best baked salmon recipe…ever.
How much salmon should I buy?
Although it looks massive, you’re still buying a fillet; you won’t be slicing it yourself, but you may have to ask the fishmonger to do it. If you think people will be hungry, aim for about ½ pound per person, keeping in mind that salmon can be surprisingly filling. Also remember that how big the meat is will affect the baking time. For a 3-pound fillet, it’ll take around 25 minutes.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 pound (500 g) fingerling potatoes, halved (or Yukon golds or halved white/red baby potatoes)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt, divided
  • 1/2 teaspoon cracked black pepper, divided
  • 4 (6 oz | 170 g) skinless salmon fillets
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons minced garlic, divided
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chopped parsley
  • 1/3 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup melted unsalted butter
  • 3 bunches asparagus, (18 spears, woody ends removed)
  • 2 tablespoons dry white wine (substitute with 1/4 cup low-sodium chicken broth)
  • 1 lemon sliced to garnish

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Heat oven to 400°F | 200°C. On a large rimmed baking sheet, toss together potatoes with the oil, 1/2 tablespoon of garlic, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Spread out in an even layer and roast for 15 minutes until they’re just starting to soften and brown.
  2. Push potatoes to one side of the sheet pan and arrange salmon down the centre. Rub salmon evenly with 1 1/2 tablespoons of the minced garlic and 2 tablespoons of parsley. Add the asparagus to the other side of the pan.
  3. Combine 1/4 cup of lemon juice and 1/4 cup of the melted butter together and pour the mixture over the salmon and asparagus. Season everything with the remaining salt and pepper.
  4. Return to oven and continue baking until the potatoes are golden and fork-tender and the salmon is opaque throughout, (about 10 minutes). Optional: broil in the last 2 minutes for charred edges.
  5. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, combine the remaining butter, garlic and lemon juice with the wine (or chicken stock). Serve with the salmon, veggies and lemon slices!

  • FOR THE ONION GRAVY
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 large yellow onion, thinly sliced

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme
  • 1/2 cup low sodium chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • chopped fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

Season pork chops with seasoning salt and pepper.

Heat oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat until butter is melted. Add pork chops to skillet and sear for 5 minutes per side, until golden brown. If skillet isn’t big enough, cook the pork chops in batches. Transfer to a plate and keep covered.

Return skillet to heat and add a tablespoon of butter; melt over medium heat. Stir in sliced onions and add a pinch of salt. Cook onions for 12 minutes, or until very soft and caramelized, stirring frequently.

Add garlic and fresh thyme; continue to cook for 30 seconds. Pour in chicken broth and using a wooden spoon, scrape up the browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Whisk in heavy cream and simmer for 1 minute.

Return pork chops and all the pork juices to the skillet. Reduce heat to medium-low and continue to cook for 3 more minutes, or until pork is completely cooked through and sauce has thickened. Remove from heat; garnish with parsley and serve.

  • 340 ml of beer
  •  4 cups of beef broth

  • Place the onion in the saucepan, add the onion and cook for a few minutes, stirring often, then add the garlic and fry.
  • Now add beer broth, beef, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, paprika, thyme, salt, pepper and sugar.
  • Return the meat to the pan.
  • Cover and simmer for 2 hours.
  • Add carrots and potatoes 30 minutes before the end of cooking
