Honey Applesauce Cake Recipe

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and honey until light and fluffy.
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the applesauce. Begin and end with the dry ingredients, mixing just until combined after each addition. Fold in the chopped walnuts, if using.
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
Remove from the oven and let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
