Elon Musk Updates X’s Guidelines & Officially Allows Porn to Show Support to Adult Content Creators

X, formerly known as Twitter, is now officially rated X. In other words, it’s no longer illegal or against the rules to post adult content on the platform.

Elon Musk, the boss of Tesla and SpaceX who previously bought X now allows users to share adult content, or in other words, pornographic materials on the platform. In X’s latest guidelines for adult content, the adult content has to be properly labeled and not prominently displayed.

“You may share consensually produced and distributed adult nudity or sexual behavior.”

The guideline added, “We believe in the autonomy of adults to engage with and create content that reflects their own beliefs, desires, and experiences, including those related to sexuality.”

So, what does adult content mean?

Based on the guidelines, anything that depicts nudity and sexuality that’s consensually produced and pornographic in nature, or to cause sexual arousal is counted as adult content.

We guess he really wanted to make sure users are clear about what they can upload (in this case, basically anything), including AI-generated pictures, hentai (Japanese anime porn), and cartoons.

Does this mean X is now NSFW (Not Safe For Work), and not meant for underage anymore? It looks like OnlyFans now has competition!

In case you are not aware, Twitter already allowed porn before Musk’s takeover. The company estimated a 13% of all posts on the platform contained adult content, Reuters reported.

Now that you can post adult content on X, there’s only 1 thing you need to do – adjust your media settings and label your post.

“This will place all your images and videos behind a content warning that needs to be acknowledged before your media can be viewed.”

However, if you fail to do so, X will simply do it for you. As simple as that, no punishments or penalties. You can read the full guidelines here.

Now that we think of it, is there a reason why Musk made the leap from “Twitter” to “X”? Jokes aside, what do you think of this?
